Postal Banking would provide banking services to all citizens through every United States post office, benefitting those who do not have access to traditional banks or who prefer to support non-profit banking. Products and services could range from check cashing to bill payment to savings accounts to small-dollar loans. Every other developed country in the world has postal banking and the U.S. Postal Service has long provided the most basic form by issuance of postal money orders. The expansion of services would also strengthen our public Postal Service. In the era of "too big to fail" and massive public bailouts of banks, this is a common-sense approach to freeing our country from the grip of the financial giants.
